If you're still sorting out Omaha's House race, the candidates are making their final pitches. Democrat Denise Powell wants to be the first Democrat to represent Nebraska's 2nd District in about a decade. Republican Brinker Harding is defending the seat after Rep. Don Bacon decided not to seek another term.
Harding held a press conference with Bacon at his west Omaha campaign office Wednesday and called Powell “too radical for Nebraska.” He told KMTV he's “not a rubber stamp” and thinks tariffs should be “more surgical.” Powell, with House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries in North Omaha, said “we are never going to roll over and surrender.”
