- ➤ A Toyota ran a red light at 24th and Vinton in South Omaha just before 11 a.m. Saturday—crashing into a Chevrolet and sending a 35-year-old man and a female passenger with serious injuries to Nebraska Medicine while an 89-year-old driver received treatment for minor injuries and now faces pending charges. - ➤ A new GolfTRK facility will open in Elkhorn at 606 North 210th Street inside a recently completed commercial building just north of West Dodge Road. - ➤ A new and powerful sculpture called 'With Heart and Humanity' was unveiled at the Child Saving Institute’s new entrance along Douglas Street on July 20 — created by artist Littleton Alston. - ➤ Several Omaha metro area school districts will start classes in mid-August—Bellevue and Westside begin on Aug. 7 and Omaha Public Schools will open on Aug. 13 for certain grades.
