KETV & The Salvation Army are running a school supply drive to fill student backpacks for a successful school start this fall.

Donors can drop off new supplies at select local sites through August 3.

Omaha fire crews arrived near 148th and Edna just before 11 p.m. Sunday night to put out a Chalco house fire that seriously injured one person—crews quickly extinguished the flames and officials are investigating the cause.

Officials at Eppley Airfield said the airport is ready for about 84,000 passengers this Independence Day holiday — a 3.7% rise over last year — with the busiest travel days on July 2 and July 6; travelers should arrive two hours early so they can complete parking, check-in and security at the new split terminals.

UNO's Associate Dean Jason Coleman, Ph.D.—selected for the 2025 AASCU Emerging Leaders Program—joins 36 other higher education professionals to build skills in leadership and project management; he completed an in-person session in Washington, D.C. from June 24–26 and will lead a campus project under mentorship as the program continues.
