- ➤ An Omaha woman known for her fight for homeless people died in the cold while working on the streets (and at the Capitol). A re-run from Feb. 22 honors her lasting legacy in the community. Omaha World-Herald
- ➤ Omaha Scouts are in their 27th year of collecting Christmas trees to ease post-holiday cleanup in local neighborhoods. The program will run this week to help residents manage seasonal debris. WOWT

- ➤ Noli's has two Omaha locations in Aksarben and Blackstone serving pizzas, pastas, Italian subs, and family-recipe salads. It launched its Pie It Forward program to aid those facing food insecurity and is open daily from 11 a.m. with closing times at 9 on weekdays and 10 on weekends. KETV
- ➤ Genesis Health Clubs will hold a ribbon cutting for its new gym at 3201 Farnam Street in Midtown Crossing on Friday, Jan. 23. The club will open in the space (formerly Alamo Drafthouse Cinema). Grow Omaha

- ➤ Local shoppers find updated holiday return policies available now at Target, Walmart, and Kohl’s; Target accepts returns (for Nov. 1-Dec. 24 purchases) until Jan. 24—with Apple products by Jan. 9—Walmart until Jan. 31, and Kohl’s offers free in-store returns for Oct. 1-31 purchases in Omaha. - ➤ Omaha residents can recycle Christmas trees free at designated sites (Kelley Softball Complex near 120th and Fort, F Street Football Field, Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium, Street Orchard Park, and Ta-Ha-Zouka Park) until January 9; trees must have lights, ornaments and other extra items removed to avoid fines. - ➤ Rep. Don Bacon announced that Eppley Airfield received a $10M federal grant to rebuild 35,000 sqft of its terminal this past Thursday; the project will update concourse, security checkpoints and international gate areas to enhance travel for the region. WOWT

- ➤ A partnership between the UNO School of Music and UNMC Neurological Sciences is studying how music may help Alzheimer’s and dementia patients in Omaha.
