- ➤ Forty North Omaha organizations will receive nearly $300K in grants from funds provided under the Nebraska Convention Center Financing Assistance Act. The grants will support projects that highlight local history, reduce street violence, and boost small business growth in North Omaha. WOWT
- ➤ The holiday lights on a Turner Boulevard home have reconnected former residents with cherished memories — sisters Rita Miller Doubek and Amy reconnected after seeing the festive display this season. Mike Loven-Crumb launched a Facebook page two years ago to share the home's enchanting tradition with the community. WOWT
- ➤ A first grader named E has gifted Christmas trees + ornaments to NICU babies at hospitals including CHI Health’s Lakeside and Grand Island as part of a three-year family tradition of using blessing money to share holiday cheer. She hopes to brighten the season for newborns and their families. KETV
- ➤ Festive holiday lights on a charming home on Turner Boulevard have reconnected sisters to their childhood memories while drawing families together in a warm neighborhood display today. The lighting display invites visitors to share in the community spirit & create new friendships. WOWT
- ➤ Chef Robert Wilson, who has cooked at the Stephen Center for 14 years, served over 300 prime rib meals on Christmas Day thanks to private donors (with Archbishop Michael McGovern helping serve) as part of his annual gift to the center that saved his life. WOWT
- ➤ On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Omaha’s Open Door Mission served about 900 meals at holiday banquets to support local residents. Staff noted the nonprofit’s event helped meet community needs (with strong turnout reported). WOWT
