  • North Omaha community leaders announced Tuesday that $294,602 in 40 grants will help reduce violence and support small businesses (funding local projects aimed at strengthening the area).  Omaha World-Herald
  • Omaha's Salvation Army Red Kettle campaign will end soon as dollars raised support meals, shelter & emergency services for residents.  WOWT
  • On Christmas Eve (Dec. 24), families gathered at Eppley Airfield as travelers returned home from warm climates and overseas trips, with seasonal reunions bringing joy even during ongoing airport construction.  3 News Now
  • In 2025, RiverFront Parks welcomed over 2.3 million visitors (with over 600 events at Gene Leahy Mall, Heartland of America Park and Lewis Clark Landing) and experts expect the number to reach 2.8 million by year's end, nearly a 50 percent increase from 2024.  Grow Omaha

  • Mi So La Do (Crafted Ramen) is soft-opening at 7425 Dodge Street near 74th & Dodge Street. The restaurant offers tonkotsu ramen, handmade pork gyoza and takoyaki and is hiring while it has yet to set an official opening date.  Grow Omaha

  • A yard near 116th Street and Grand Avenue is hosting a festive display with inflatables (including Santa in an outhouse) as part of KETV’s 12 Days of Christmas feature running from Dec. 14 to today.  KETV

  • Omaha YMCAs are offering group fitness classes like yoga and pickleball to help locals tackle holiday blues (a time when feelings often run high) and build community with financial assistance available at the branch near 132nd Street and Center Road.  KETV

  • 2025 was a memorable year in Omaha sports as KETV Sports reviewed major achievements; Creighton Athletics named Alan Huss as Greg McDermott's successor while Tyson Terry won four heavyweight titles, Omaha men's basketball made its first NCAA Tournament appearance, and local boxing champ Terence Crawford retired after a 42-0 career.  KETV
