- ➤ Nebraska’s minimum wage will rise from $13.50 to $15 per hour starting Jan. 1. Voters passed the measure in November 2022, and annual cost-of-living adjustments will begin in 2027 while employers ensure tipped workers earn a combined minimum wage. WOWT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City officials announced trash collection will be suspended on Christmas (Dec. 25) and New Year’s Day (Jan. 1) as local Public Works and FCC Environmental Services observe the holidays. Residents with service on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday will see no change while Thursday and Friday pickups shift one day later. WOWT

- ➤ Former U.S. Senator Ben Sasse (53) announced on Tuesday morning via Facebook that he has stage-four pancreatic cancer and described his condition as 'a death sentence.' He resigned from the Senate in 2023 after serving since 2015 and later led the University of Florida. 3 News Now
