ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A Beaver Lake cabin burned Saturday evening from an accidental fire possibly started by a wood burner—50 responders fought the flames until 8 a.m. and treated two firefighters for overexertion as neighbors said the injured man should survive his injuries.  KETV

  • UNO named Gurpreet S. Dhillon as the next dean of the College of Business Administration, effective Jan. 12th, 2026—pending board approval. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Mayor John Ewing Jr. rode the trolley on Sunday along the streetcar route to support small businesses like Zen Coffee, The Next Chapter Book Store, and Noli’s Pizzeria hurt by the construction work. He partnered with the Omaha Chamber of Commerce to bring city leaders and residents together — the effort aimed to help the businesses recover from delays.  WOWT

  • Nebraska football fired defensive coordinator John Butler effective immediately after a 40-16 loss to Iowa that exposed defensive weaknesses.   • UNO officials will propose a $67.5M plan for new athletic facilities at Baxter Arena and Maverick Park on Friday, Dec. 5—citing Sapp Fieldhouse as outdated for Division 1 athletics.   • After struggling with run defense, Nebraska fired defensive coordinator John Butler on Monday, December 1st — and interim coach Phil Snow has taken over as the Huskers prepare for their bowl game.
