- ➤ After shelves were nearly empty at Offutt’s Food Pantry due to the government shutdown, neighbors stepped up to donate more than $35,000 in food and funds—helping military families and furloughed federal employees. The donations will keep the pantry stocked through next year as the need continues. WOWT
- ➤ Ooh De Lally is expanding to a new site in North Omaha near 40th and Military—adding a bakery, coffee shop, and eight apartment units to support formerly incarcerated individuals with job training and housing. The nonprofit—after outgrowing its Dundee location last year—will open its new space by the end of 2027. 3 News Now
- ➤ KFAB's longtime host Gary Sadlemyer, a Nebraska Broadcasting Association Hall of Famer who began his career in 1976, will retire from his full-time morning show on December 12 — he will still work part time as a fill-in host and on advertiser content. Grow Omaha

- ➤ Omaha hosted the Air Medical Transport Conference at CHI Health Center Omaha from October 27 through 29—about 1,700 air and ground critical care professionals gathered for training sessions, exhibits, and networking to boost patient safety and care. - ➤ Google and The Walt Disney Company are negotiating a renewal of their carriage agreement for YouTubeTV that will keep KETV on the service if they reach an agreement by 11:59 p.m. Eastern today—if no deal is reached, KETV will be removed from the platform. KETV and its parent company Hearst are not involved in the talks. KETV
- ➤ After former Nebraska football player Matt Vrzal died in late September, his sister and mother are keeping his Piezon’s Pizzeria open — they said the restaurant will continue to serve local customers. WOWT

- ➤ OPA hosts a choose-what-you-pay social dance event at Highlander’s Dining Hall in North Omaha this month where legendary dancers Ephrat Asherie, Archie Burnett, and Flo Master will lead a Lunch & Learn—additional sessions will be held at UNO and the Holland Performing Arts Center. 3 News Now

- ➤ The University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Aviation Institute is adding new flight simulators to give students hands-on training amid a national pilot shortage. The simulators mimic real flight scenarios — a tool that also supports internships and partnerships to build job readiness. The Omaha News
- ➤ The University of Nebraska Medical Center’s uBEATS program is expanding free online STEM and health science modules for middle and high school students, developed with the University of Nebraska at Omaha—designed to support both classroom lessons and independent study.
