- ➤ In Douglas County, commissioners rejected a plan to house ICE detainees at the corrections center—stating that people who strengthen the economy should not be held without a criminal record. In Omaha, city officials will host an open house on October 23rd at 5:00 p.m. to discuss upgrades at Tranquility Park, and more than two-thousand residents honored breast cancer survivors over the weekend while coach Matt Rhule affirmed his commitment to Nebraska amid job speculation. - ➤ UNO alumni Leonard Sommer (class of '76) has established an endowed professorship to honor dedicated faculty and boost quality accounting education for future students. - ➤ A recent study on North Omaha violence found that over 17% of adults and 24% of young people show signs of PTSD after violent events, with more than 400 residents surveyed.
