  • The Omaha WALK to End Hydrocephalus will take place on Oct. 19 at Chalco Hills Recreation Area at 8 a.m. as sisters Karin Donner and Hailee Schmit lead the sixth annual event to raise funds for research and support—efforts that bring families together and boost community awareness.  KETV

  • Governor Pillen said Nebraska will join a federal school voucher plan in 2027 even though voters said no last November—Representatives Flood and Smith supported the move while critics argue it ignores the people's wishes.  Nebraska Examiner
  • In Omaha on Friday, a father whose three young children were injured in a May crash said NU Regent Elizabeth O’Connor should resign after her DUI charge led to serious injuries, including his mother-in-law’s broken back. State Sen. Kathleen Kauth is beginning impeachment steps & Gov. Pillen stressed that O’Connor remains innocent until proven guilty.  Nebraska Examiner

  • The Omaha Planning Department approved a rezoning request for the Sonesta ES Suites property at 6990 Dodge Street, paving the way for a future conversion into 80 apartments including 60 efficiency units and 20 two-bedroom units in a TOD—2—MX area.  Grow Omaha

  • Creighton volleyball remained undefeated in Big East play after a four-set win over DePaul on Saturday—Abbey Hayes and Jaya Johnson led key plays—and the team will face Georgetown Friday at 6 p.m.  KETV
  • Omaha Women’s Soccer came back from a two-goal deficit to beat St. Thomas 3-2 at South Field in St. Paul. They will play South Dakota State on Oct. 12 at 1 p.m.—with goals from Payten Ivins, Kayla Hassler and Lauren Schmidt helping secure the win.  University of Nebraska Omaha
  • Omaha Men's Tennis wrapped up their penultimate fall invite Sunday at home with redshirt sophomore Pavan Uppu winning two singles matches against Washburn and North Dakota & securing doubles wins with senior Ethan Gaubert and juniors Caleb Peterson and Christian Trevey.
