  • Millard middle school parents have raised concerns over a dangerous traffic snarl at 3:00 p.m. pickup near 156th and Adams as parked cars block the flow of buses and families — the city traffic division and school officials are now reviewing options like no parking signs and one-way changes to help ease the congestion.  WOWT
  • Homeless outreach workers in Omaha work five days a week checking on people sleeping in tents and under bridges while arranging healthcare, transportation and shelter support as city leaders debate banning tent encampments. Kevin Franklin—a former homeless man who spent six years on the streets and now lives in supportive housing—said the trusted team helped him get back on his feet.  KETV

  • The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported that unemployment for 16- to 24-year-olds reached 10.5% in August—making young job seekers a prime target for fake job scams.   • Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers sent cease-and-desist letters to every known retail store selling synthetic THC products to warn against mislabeling and unsafe trade practices—stores must return a signed Assurance of Voluntary Compliance or face litigation and penalties.  Omaha World-Herald
  • Yesterday, the Omaha Streetcar Authority released a seven-minute online survey inviting residents to share their thoughts on the upcoming streetcar’s branding and logo—this survey remains open until Oct. 7th.   • Nebraska's power grid is at risk because federal red tape slows the way new energy projects connect — wait times have grown from less than 2 years to nearly 5 years, which may push up power costs as demand grows. City officials voted Tuesday on rules to limit medical cannabis operations and ban homeless camps—two state Liquor Commission members resigned at the governor’s request while lawmakers faced a government shutdown deadline.  WOWT
