- ➤ Today, the Papio-Missouri River Natural Resources District and partners celebrate the opening of the new Beltline Trailhead at Hamilton Street and Military Avenue, transforming a long abandoned industrial site into a community space with new grass, trees, and inspirational art. - ➤ City of Omaha is waiving downtown parking fees from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.—a move meant for the Terence Crawford parade on Saturday, so residents should plan extra travel time due to road closures. - ➤ Christy Knorr, a Ralston hospice nurse and community volunteer, announced her candidacy Monday for the District 12 seat in the Nebraska Legislature—she is running to give working families a stronger voice and to champion issues such as environmental protection, lower property taxes and affordable housing in parts of Ralston, Millard and Omaha.
