CRIME NEWS
- ➤ One woman was taken into custody and another sustained a non-life-threatening facial injury after a cutting outside the parking lot of All Nations Grocery, Liquor & Tobacco south of downtown Omaha Monday night around 8:00 p.m.—police later arrested a suspect matching the description. WOWT
- ➤ Nebraska State Patrol reported that Douglas County issued 13 citations for drivers exceeding 100 mph while Lincoln County gave 75 tickets for speeds over 90 mph—294 drivers were ticketed statewide this month. KETV
- ➤ An Arkansas man was sentenced to prison for fatally striking a Council Bluffs cyclist during last year's Tour de Nebraska bicycle ride—he appeared tearful as he accepted his sentence. Omaha World-Herald

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Duchesne Academy is constructing a $43 million athletic complex on its Midtown campus near 36th and Burt Street. The state-of-the-art facility is built for female athletes and will include a competition gym seating 1,200, an indoor track, a turf soccer field with a geothermal system, and amenities such as a locker room, weight room, and commons area—while fundraising has reached over 81 percent of its goal. - ➤ The Papillion La Vista Community Schools Foundation will build a $10 million center in downtown Papillion—designed to reduce learning barriers for district families. The project will support district education and community engagement as plans move forward. Omaha World-Herald
