- ➤ An Omaha business owner filed a lawsuit against Wall to Wall Wine & Spirits, alleging that the firm misled customers by displaying a sale price that did not match the true discount—one example cited a scotch advertised with a $15 saving that turned out to have only an $11 discount. The suit was filed in Douglas County District Court on Friday and seeks more than $1 million in damages along with interest and legal fees, and Wall to Wall must respond within 30 days. WOWT

- ➤ The owner of a northwest convenience store, Yaser Shohatee, was sentenced to two years probation after pleading no contest to attempted possession with intent to distribute drugs at Douglas County District Court last week—other employees received probation or were deferred to problem solving court without jail time in connection with the 2024 drug bust. - ➤ Federal agents and Omaha police executed search warrants on hotels and residences in the region on Tuesday as part of a human trafficking investigation — five individuals are now charged with labor trafficking, sex trafficking, and harboring aliens, according to federal prosecutors. KFAB
- ➤ Omaha police warned about a dangerous new drug mixture called purple fentanyl that contains lidocaine and cannot be reversed by Narcan—authorities said it likely came from Kansas City and urged calling 911 if anyone shows overdose symptoms. KETV

- ➤ Today, Omaha Metro Transit launches its new microtransit system Metro Flex using 18 shuttle vans to serve three zones plus rides to Eppley Airfield; riders can request a shared ride by the app or customer service and are expected to wait 20 minutes or less. KETV

- ➤ Lanoha said the 600-foot shear tower for the new 44-story Mutual of Omaha headquarters will top out next month—crews are installing the final floors on the $600 million office building at 14th and Farnam Street, with completion set for the end of 2026.
