- ➤ Residents in Omaha and Elkhorn began cleaning up after a damaging storm on Sunday that left over 7,000 power outages by 11 a.m.—OPPD reported the outages and local crews are working to restore power. WOWT
- ➤ The Salvation Army brought a food truck and a Salvation Army box truck to River View Park Resort & Marina Sunday morning to serve breakfast to storm victims and first responders. They also offered free flood cleanup kits to anyone with water damage in Blair. KETV

- ➤ Police have identified an adult and a child who died in a crash on Pacific Street near the I-680 interchange — the crash occurred shortly before 12:45 p.m. Friday. WOWT
- ➤ A storm damaged an Omaha RV park on August 10 where at least 4 people suffered life-threatening injuries and caused catastrophic damage to a Dollar General warehouse—emergency crews are assessing the situation. WOWT
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A vehicle struck a pole near 153rd and Q streets early Sunday morning—Omaha police said extrication tools were used to free the trapped occupant who was taken to Bergan Mercy. KETV
- ➤ Omaha Police responded to a shooting near 124th and V streets in West Omaha just after 4:15 p.m. Friday, injuring a 68-year-old man who was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries—detectives are investigating whether the incident was accidental or intentional. WOWT

- ➤ In Valley, public tax dollars are used to give developers millions in tax breaks for private lake communities while funds for schools and fire services suffer. City leaders say a new review committee and revised agreements aim to balance the benefits — but many residents still question if the changes will help everyone. Omaha World-Herald

- ➤ Crews demolished a former Family Dollar store and the former Mother India restaurant north of Leavenworth Street between 35th Avenue and 36th Street to clear space for a new $25 million, five-story apartment building with 85 market-rate units.
