- ➤ Late Monday, a semi truck on Highway 91 failed to stop in time to turn onto Highway 275 near Scribner (where it tipped onto its driver’s side in a ditch) and one person was taken to the hospital. WOWT

- ➤ Burger Detour closed its two Omaha locations on Monday near 180th Street and West Maple Road — and near 203rd and Pacific streets — because rising costs made it difficult to keep operations running. The restaurant thanked its customers for their support and memories in a Facebook post that described the decision as incredibly difficult. KETV

- ➤ Omaha Police arrested two suspects in connection with Mandrell Swiney, Jr.'s June 22 homicide near 30th and Larimore Avenue — Jonathan Nauden, 25 is charged with manslaughter with a $500,000 bond — while Laquantrey Jackson, 24 was booked for firearm possession by a convicted felon with a $50,000 bond. - ➤ Omaha police arrested two suspects for a June shooting that killed a man and injured a woman near North 30th Street and Larimore Avenue—25-year-old Jonathan Nauden now faces a manslaughter charge while 24-year-old Laquantrey Jackson was arrested for firearm possession. KETV
- ➤ Deputy Douglas County Attorney Elizabeth O'Connor, a member of the Nebraska Board of Regents, resigned after she faced DUI charges following a May crash at 63rd & Blondo that caused a life-threatening injury, and a preliminary hearing is set for September 9th. KFAB
- ➤ The man accused of using a firearm to commit a felony in a North Omaha shooting that wounded seven people appeared in court Tuesday — he now faces seven counts. WOWT

- ➤ Sheriff Hanson said that rapid growth in Irvington increased 911 calls and crimes such as stabbings, shootings and robberies — he requested an extra Special Operations Group member for unincorporated areas but the county did not approve the proposal — leaving the department strained as it worked to reduce crime. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Jan Janisch-Hanzlik became the first patient in the world to receive an experimental CAR T-cell therapy for multiple sclerosis on June 9 at Nebraska Medicine, and she reported improved mobility at a press conference on August 5. Doctors say the donor cell treatment may help reset her immune system for MS—further trials are assessing safety and proper dosing. Omaha World-Herald
