  • Thousands of Omaha natives will return this week for the Native Omaha Days festival to reconnect with friends and enjoy music and food — with a homecoming parade set for Saturday, Aug. 2 at 10 a.m. Local business owners expect a boost — as vendors share food and cultural items during the celebration.  WOWT

  • Jensen Tire and Auto began construction on a new store on the southwest corner of 204th and N Street ahead of Baker's Marketplace, a planned $40 million 125,000 sq ft grocery store. CRIME NEWS

  • A 22-year-old man in northwest Omaha, who was counting down his days to leave for Army boot camp, was fatally shot Saturday night—authorities are investigating the homicide.  Omaha World-Herald
  • The sixth teenage suspect, Desean Titsworth-Hunt, pleaded no contest Friday to charges of robbery and use of a weapon to commit a felony in connection with the murder of 64-year-old Mursal Jama—whose shooting and car theft occurred in August 2024—and he will be sentenced Nov. 13.  WOWT

  • Comedian Jeff Dunham and his cast of characters will perform at the CHI Health Center in downtown Omaha on November 8—tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on August 4.  KETV

  • Tropicale Foods recalled 14 Helados Mexico and La Michoacana ice cream products on July 25 due to undeclared milk that poses a risk of life-threatening allergic reactions. Nebraska consumers with milk allergies are urged to discard any affected product immediately.  KFAB
