ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Police investigated a fatal crash on Thursday at 4 p.m. near 10th and Martha Streets in Omaha when 63-year-old Carra Niverson was struck in a marked crosswalk after a Chevrolet hit a stationary Jeep, causing her to die at Nebraska Medicine and both drivers to be treated—one for serious injuries and the other for non-life-threatening injuries as authorities continue to investigate the incident.  WOWT

  • Omaha held the Heartland Pride parade on Saturday where thousands joined to honor a 40-year tradition and one float recalled a time when showing pride was risky—organizers noted that while the event has grown, challenges still remain today.  WOWT
  • Pride weekend in Omaha continued with a Youth Pride event at CHI Health Center downtown Friday night as many gathered to celebrate self-expression amid concerns over new trans rights restrictions — a call from organizers to honor the movement's protest roots and remain heard.   • The FDA is beginning a review to update baby formula testing for key nutrients and heavy metals to keep kids safe. Nebraska Medicine Lead Lactation Consultant Stacia Kennedy said families should not worry—she expects no formula to be removed and the agency will accept comments until September 11th.  WOWT
