  • A revamped park in North Omaha reopened its space with a new trail system and an all-wheels playground—features designed for inclusive play for local families.  Omaha World-Herald

  • A person was taken to a hospital with serious injuries after a crash at 4:45 a.m. near 20th and Mason streets downtown Omaha on Saturday morning — authorities have not determined the cause.  WOWT

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Omaha's Warren Buffett reportedly donated $6 billion in Berkshire Hathaway Class B shares to five organizations — Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation, Sherwood Foundation, Howard G. Buffett Foundation, and NoVo Foundation. His donation comes after retiring and is part of $60 billion in stock he has given away since 2006.  KETV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Exterior glass is being installed on the east side of the new terminal at Eppley as part of a $1 billion project that will nearly double its space + add centralized TSA security, new shops + restaurants, and international arrival capability. The expansion will increase the terminal’s area from 375,000 to about 646,000 square feet.  Grow Omaha
  • The Omaha City Council will meet Tuesday, July 1 at 2 p.m. to review agenda items including a public hearing on spending an extra $145,000 to reexamine a 13th Street walk study and several neighborhood projects for parks at Churchich, Riverside Lakes, Cattail Creek, Pine Creek and Stafford West. Officials will also consider extending 911 service with Douglas County until October 1 — using $4.78 million in TIF funds to redevelop WOWT’s old building and holding public hearings on a new annexation package while confirming board appointments by Mayor John Ewing.  WOWT
