- ➤ Concertgoers arrived early on Friday, June 27th at Memorial Park for the free concert that featured a Central High School student's National Anthem, sets by Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs and Ringo Starr and his All-Starr Band, and a fireworks display at 10 p.m. Attendees described the crowd as lively — like a Husker football game — and noted many faced delays leaving the park after the show. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov. Jim Pillen signed a law on June 4 that requires Nebraska businesses and nonprofits to confirm in their biannual reports that they do not work for designated foreign terrorist groups or adversary nations like China or Iran—any violation may incur civil penalties up to $50,000. The law will take effect in September and also mandates that those involved in political lobbying register as foreign agents. Omaha World-Herald
- ➤ Omaha officials announced that I-480 will have two overnight lane closures for Harney Street Bridge decking—the first from Sunday, June 29 through Wednesday, July 2 and the second from Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 11—with traffic reduced to one lane between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. KFAB
