- ➤ The public is invited to join the eighth annual Justice for Zachary Bearheels prayer walk on Saturday, which will follow the route he is believed to have taken the day he died after Omaha police officers struck him with a stun gun eight years ago. The walk will start at the bus station at 16th and Jackson at 10 a.m. and head west to the Speedee Mart at 60th and Center where participants will hold a prayer with traditional indigenous singing and drumming. - ➤ One person was seriously injured in a cutting near 36th and Jackson streets in Omaha just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday — no arrests have been reported. KETV
- ➤ An Early Bird employee was detained by ICE agents during business hours on June 1 at the West Omaha location, and a video captured him being cuffed—an Omaha law firm confirmed they represent the worker while ICE and local officials investigated the incident as Early Bird stated it had no prior knowledge. - ➤ A judge sentenced Chit Lay to 64—88 years in prison for the manslaughter of 27-year-old Taw Moo in 2024 after he pleaded no contest in a shooting near Fontenelle Park, and he earned credit for 449 days served with parole eligibility in 36 years. KETV
- ➤ Omaha Police identified 42-year-old Frederick Miller IV, who died early Tuesday after being hit by a vehicle near Park Avenue — Pacific Street as paramedics took him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. KFAB
