- ➤ City planners and walkability advocates are exploring a modern streetcar revival to spark a downtown renaissance, which may help boost local mobility & economic development after the system was discontinued in the 1950s. Omaha World-Herald
- ➤ On Sunday, Little Bohemia businesses hosted a fundraiser for tattoo artist Katie Martin — paralyzed by a rare spinal infection — to aid her rehabilitation and support her fight to regain strength. KETV
- ➤ Mustachioed contestants at Taste of Omaha’s 29th annual festival raised $1M to benefit kids. The event supported local restaurants amid rising costs and construction challenges. WOWT

ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ Nebraska Public Power District and partners are studying options for a new nuclear power plant at one of four sites, including Gage County. The initiative received DOE funding (27 million dollars) to begin early permit work and reactor design research for rising power needs. Nebraska Examiner
- ➤ OPPD reached a power purchase agreement with Sandhills Energy to build a new 250-megawatt solar facility in Burt County that will generate enough power for 50,000 homes and will transfer a York County plant to Sandhills, advancing local energy development. Omaha World-Herald

- ➤ Volunteers from Nebraska Game & Parks and the Greater Omaha Scuba Group worked at Prairie Queen Lake in La Vista today by paddling and diving to remove invasive species like Eurasian watermilfoil, curly-leaf pondweed, zebra mussels and illegal white perch to protect the lake. KETV
- ➤ Plattsmouth’s new wastewater treatment plant opens today at the site affected by 2019 flood damage + a project manager noted it has room to double its capacity if demand increases. WOWT
