ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ NDOT data shows that during April, 20 people died in 19 traffic crashes on Nebraska roads—14 were on rural roads while the remaining fatalities occurred on highways and local roads, with seatbelt use varying among those killed. WOWT

- ➤ UNO celebrated over 2,000 new graduates at its May 2025 Commencement on May 16 at Baxter Arena in Omaha. - ➤ Gov. Jim Pillen vetoed a bill Tuesday that would have given Omaha more power to hold the Housing Authority accountable by requiring inspections and prompt pest removal — he argued that local and federal oversight already cover these issues. State Sen. Terrell McKinney, who sponsored the measure after repeated resident complaints, said he will try to override the veto. Omaha World-Herald
- ➤ Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen signed a law today to ban lab-grown meat, making Nebraska the sixth state to do so (joining Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Montana, and Indiana) as reported by the Center for the Environment and Welfare. Grow Omaha
