- ➤ This summer the Salvation Army will launch Family Meals of Hope, a new mobile feeding program that offers dinnertime meals on weeknights except during holidays to help families in need. The program will run from June 2 to Aug. 1 at four parks—Miller Park: 2707 Redick Ave. and Upland Park: 3104 Jefferson St. from 6 to 6:30 p.m. and Benson Park: 7208 Military Ave. and Highland Park: 2512 D St. from 6:45 to 7:15 p.m.—officials said. - ➤ Local businesses in Omaha are preparing for the Big Ten baseball tournament — a preview for the College World Series that is expected to boost foot traffic. Twelve teams will compete with more fans expected to visit bars and restaurants throughout the week. WOWT

- ➤ North Omaha will host the Native Omaha Days Festival from July 28 to August 4 to mark 48 years of culture and community memory. - ➤ Central High student Sienna Maskin wrote a paper on how Instagram and other social media apps hurt teen body image and cause insecurity by promoting unrealistic beauty standards. She found that many teens spend two to three hours on these apps each day + they face a never-ending cycle of content that pressures them to meet harmful ideals. KETV
- ➤ The University of Nebraska said most employees at UNL and UNMC will have salary freezes next year to limit program cuts due to budget challenges — the NU Board of Regents will approve the operating budget on June 19 while faculty at UNO and UNK have secured raises through union contracts. - ➤ At the 2025 boys soccer state championships the Westside Warriors defeated Omaha South 3-2 and the Schuyler Warriors won their first state title with a 2-1 win over Bennington.
