BUSINESS NEWS

  • A legal decision and threat of state fines have led the family-owned Barber Shop Blackstone to change its name temporarily to the Censored Shop (located near 40th and Farnam in the Blackstone District). The siblings plan to appeal the ruling later this week.  Nebraska Examiner

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Omaha's Public Works Department closed two streets on Monday for repairs and a construction project. Drivers should plan alternate routes until the work is finished.  Omaha World-Herald

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Greater Omaha Heart and Stroke Walk will take place Saturday at Gene Leahy Mall with both 1-mile and 3-mile routes and available CPR training from the fire department—emcee Zach Williamson leads local efforts to raise funds and awareness for heart disease research.  3 News Now
  • Nebraska Medicine activated its Nebraska Biocontainment Unit at UNMC after one cruise passenger linked to a hantavirus outbreak arrived early this morning; 17 passengers are now being assessed at the National Quarantine Unit inside UNMC Davis Global Center (42nd & Leavenworth Street).  Grow Omaha
