  • Omaha police are looking for a man caught on camera trying to break into an ATM at O’Leaver’s Pub on Saddle Creek at 5 a.m. April 25—he caused nearly $3,000 in damage despite repeated attempts—if anyone recognizes him, they are urged to contact CrimeStoppers.  KETV
  • Omaha police blocked off the neighborhood near Douglas County Corrections on Thursday evening while negotiating with an armed person at 19th and Jones streets—officers later took the suspect into custody safely and secured the area.  WOWT

  • Omaha's new Archbishop Michael McGovern—seated yesterday—praised Pope Leo XIV's leadership after Robert Prevost was chosen as the first American-born pope and said a celebratory Mass will be held soon.  WOWT

  • On May 8, the Omaha DEA safely disposed of over 10 tons of unused prescription medication, about 20,000 lbs in total, during National Prescription Drug Takeback Day+a move meant to reduce the risk of misuse.  WOWT

  • Omaha officials have begun work on a $43 million apartment complex on a lot that sat idle for more than a decade. The Oxworth Apartments will include 194 new units and repurpose an old cold storage warehouse—offering a community room, pool, and outdoor lounge—and are set to be finished by Spring 2027.  WOWT
