- ➤ Christopher Swillie, a suspect in the fatal shooting of 15-year-old Shalamar Davis, had his preliminary hearing today in North Omaha where the judge sent his case to district court for trial on charges of using a firearm to commit a felony, first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and discharging a firearm near a vehicle or building — he remains held without bond. - ➤ Douglas County Election Commission said early in-person votes for Omaha’s General Election are due by Monday, May 12 at 5 p.m.—offices are open today until 6 p.m., on May 8 until 6 p.m. and on Saturday, May 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Voters can pick up ballots until Tuesday, May 13 at 7 p.m. and should mail ballots by May 6 for on-time processing while showing a valid photo ID.
