  • At his Omaha meeting on May 3, Warren Buffett announced he will retire at year end and plan to recommend Greg Abel as CEO—he also warned that current tariff policies have raised the risk of global instability.  KETV
  • Warren Buffett announced his retirement at the Berkshire Hathaway meeting and named vice chairman Greg Abel to succeed him as CEO. Buffett said Abel is ready to lead the company — he chairs Berkshire Hathaway Energy and sits on several boards.  KETV
  • Warren Buffett answered shareholder questions for four hours today at CHI Health Center as long lines meant some were held in an overflow room, and he addressed issues like trade, stock advice, and dividend policies in a Q&A session using timely business insights & practical advice for investors. This session marked the second day of Berkshire Hathaway weekend, drawing a large crowd eager for his views.  WOWT

  • Omaha voters in District 7 face a choice between incumbent Aimee Melton, who has served since 2013 and is seeking a third term, and challenger Tim Carter, a community leader focused on practical local improvements (early voting began on April 28 and Election Day is on May 13).  Omaha World-Herald
  • Jose Puentes went to Vietnam with his nephew Diego to learn more about his brother Manny, who was drafted from Omaha and went missing after his patrol was ambushed near the DMZ on March 25th, 1971. The pair visited old tunnels and a small memorial and will meet with government officials this summer to seek answers and honor veterans.  KETV
