- ➤ Creighton professor Dr. Andrew Baruth explained the University’s plan to reduce + reuse materials to boost conservation efforts beyond Earth Day, emphasizing that sustainable practices guide campus operations. WOWT
- ➤ On April 27, 1976, the Supreme Court ruled that Omaha Public Schools practiced segregation (by limiting Black students to neighborhood schools) and ordered integration efforts including busing. The ruling later spurred an open enrollment policy based on income. WOWT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A group seeking to legalize online sports betting in Nebraska commissioned research showing the change could bring in $87 million over five years and yield about $61 million in property tax relief. - ➤ Construction crews began work on the 132nd Street bridge over West Dodge on Monday at 9 a.m. in Omaha, causing lane closures in both directions and on Dodge Street ramps; NDOT said a reopening timeline has not been provided. WOWT
- ➤ NDOT said the northbound I-680 off-ramp to Dodge Street will close tonight at 9 p.m. for overhead sign removal and will reopen tomorrow at 9 a.m. WOWT

- ➤ Birth professionals are learning new labor techniques at Methodist Women’s Hospital in Omaha today as part of a Spinning Babies workshop, where trainer Tammy Ryan (24 years of experience) is guiding nurses from five states in methods to improve comfort during pregnancy and ease labor. KETV

- ➤ Auburn transfer Arek Angui, a 6-foot-9 forward, has committed to join Nebraska WBB and will boost the Huskers' frontcourt this season. His move marks a fresh chapter as he leaves Auburn for Nebraska. WOWT
- ➤ Justin Bolis, a Lincoln High alum who spent two seasons with the Huskers, has committed to play for the Mavericks, adding local talent to the team. He will join the Mavericks in upcoming games. WOWT
