  • The 14th annual Bereaved Mother's Day Luncheon was held Saturday, Apr. 25 at the Heritage Center (Mount Moriah Baptist Church) and brought together mothers, families and advocates to honor lives lost to violence while promoting peace under the No Murders in May initiative.  KETV

  • Nebraska Athletics named Nicole Jones as the new head coach for the women's gymnastics team Saturday morning in Lincoln. She brings 16 seasons of coaching experience from Michigan State to strengthen a program rich in tradition following Heather Brink's departure.  WOWT
  • Creighton baseball clinched a series win with a 6 to 5 walk-off over Butler on Saturday at Charles Schwab Field, and the teams will compete again today at noon.  KETV
  • Nebraska running back Emmett Johnson was selected with the 161 overall pick in the fifth round of the NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs after a season in which he rushed for 1,451 yards and caught 46 passes, marking the first 1,000-yard season for the Huskers since 2018.  KETV
  • Omaha Baseball lost 11-5 to St. Thomas Saturday at Tal Anderson Field in the second game of the Summit League series and will play the rubber game today at 1 p.m. (streaming live at 12:45 p.m.).  University of Nebraska Omaha
  • Omaha native Cole Payton was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the fifth round of the NFL Draft last Saturday. The Westside grad led North Dakota State to a 12-1 record while setting records in pass efficiency and offense.  KETV
