- ➤ Tony Boldt, NFM President and CEO, said the company has launched shareholder deals running from April 23 through May 6 ahead of the Berkshire Hathaway Shareholders Meeting set for May 2—May 4 that is expected to draw more than 40,000 visitors. He noted that NFM has served Omaha since 1937 on a 77-acre campus and will also host a Picnic event for over 1,000 shareholders. 3 News Now

- ➤ On Wednesday night near 13th Street and Mid City Avenue in southeast Omaha, a man who stole a truck crashed into a utility pole and was critically injured—Omaha police said he was not wearing a seat belt and sped off when officers attempted to pull him over. KETV
- ➤ Nebraska drivers pulled over for drunk driving recorded an average BAC of 1.67% and many were under the influence of drugs — Bellevue police Lt. Joe Milos said cannabis is the most common drug and he has seen more drug-impaired drivers in his 30 years as a Drug Recognition Expert. KETV
- ➤ Deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Omaha Police and the Nebraska Department of Revenue served a search warrant at Nebraska Precious Metals Company near 84th and F Streets Thursday morning—arresting owner Jarrod McIntyre and manager Melanie Pursley after a months-long investigation into stolen property from local stores. - ➤ Nebraska lawmakers advanced five bills for the next biennial budget on Thursday, lowering a projected $289 million deficit to $124 million. The floor debate is set to begin on May 6—lawmakers will address additional revenue measures to balance the budget that runs from July 1 to June 30. Omaha World-Herald
- ➤ Earlier this month the Sarpy County Board appointed David Dietze to the veterans service committee through 2027 + named Tim Henderson interim director of the Veterans Service Office. The board approved a $1.48 million sewer repair contract with Municipal Pipe Tool Company and upgrade contracts totaling up to $345,000 with Clark + HDR Engineering for work on the Emergency Communications Department at 1200 Golden Gate Drive while also praising law enforcement for recovering a missing Wisconsin teen.
