- ➤ Yesterday, April 11, heavy floodwaters swept through the Omaha metro area as the Army Corps of Engineers estimated nearly $12 million in damage. WOWT
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City officials closed 84th Street southbound in La Vista between Harrison Street and City Centre Drive for emergency repairs after an inlet settled last night (contractors expect to reopen the lane by Monday evening if weather allows). WOWT
- ➤ The Nebraska Legislature passed LB 1165, known as the Grow the Good Life Act, and the Greater Omaha Chamber applauded its passage on Saturday, Apr. 11. The law will update economic tools by boosting performance-based incentives and job retention strategies to strengthen Nebraska’s competitiveness. Grow Omaha

- ➤ The Huskers began their 2026 season with a Spring Match win over Iowa State at the Sanford Pentagon in Sioux Falls Saturday afternoon - they won the sets 25-17, 25-16, 25-16 and 26-24 with strong plays from key team members. WOWT
