ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • One person was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle near Buena Vista High School at 60th and L around 7:30 a.m.—authorities are still investigating if the injured party was a student.  KETV

CRIME NEWS

  • Omaha police are searching for a suspect who robbed money from Ted and Wally's and A Taste of New Orleans in Benson near 60th Avenue and Maple Street at about 6 p.m. Wednesday—officials said the suspect showed a handgun and no injuries were reported.  KETV
  • Deputies arrested four suspects after a domestic violence-related armed robbery at a hotel near 103rd Street and Blair High Road in Douglas County early Wednesday morning, and authorities detained 29-year-old Derrick McNamara at a nearby residence during a search that uncovered narcotics, a loaded handgun, and a stolen vehicle.  KETV
  • The family of a fatal Omaha crash victim said they were frustrated when the woman convicted in his death left the courtroom on probation Wednesday — they believe the sentence is too lenient.  WOWT
  • Gary Day, a 40-year-old man accused of abducting a pregnant Wisconsin teenager, appeared in court Thursday after waiving extradition to Arkansas and Wisconsin and remains held in Sarpy County without bond after being found with the 17-year-old at a truck stop on April 2 — he is scheduled to appear again on April 24.  KETV
