GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Omaha voters will vote Tuesday in the primary election for two city council districts—District 2 has nine candidates including incumbent Juanita Johnson and District 4 has four candidates including incumbent Ron Hug. In other races, some candidates run unopposed or automatically advance to May’s general election.  KETV
  • Unofficial results show Jean Stothert and John Ewing leading the contest for Omaha mayor after Tuesday’s primary—voters cast ballots at multiple polling locations.  WOWT
  • Tuesday's Omaha City Council primary election saw close races in District 2 and District 4—Ron Hug led District 4 with 2,534 votes while Andrew Adams trailed with 1,126, and in District 2 Ben Gray led with 1,597 votes ahead of LaVonya Goodwin with 919. The top two candidates from each district will move on to the general election starting April 28.  Omaha World-Herald
