BUSINESS NEWS

  • Omaha residents now have more internet choices as new providers like Google Fiber—which opened its Omaha office at the Ashton Building on March 6th—and Metronet begin offering high-speed service. Metronet is in a two-year process to install fiber optic cables in areas that lacked modern service and has notified residents before starting construction, which could lead to faster speeds and lower prices.  The Omaha News

CRIME NEWS

  • Juanita Pinon pleaded no contest to negligent child abuse after her five-year-old foster son died in a hot SUV last July and was sentenced to 6 to 10 years at the Douglas County Courthouse in Omaha (she is eligible for parole after serving half her sentence).  3 News Now

CULTURE NEWS

  • The first Broadway national tour of Some Like It Hot—bringing a rare treat to Omaha—is playing at the Orpheum Theater until Sunday, March 30. The musical—winner of four Tony Awards and based on the 1959 film—features quick costume changes and lively music.  WOWT
