- ➤ The Henry Doorily Zoo opened its Desert Dome in 2002+ it gave guests a preview of the world’s largest indoor desert exhibit, spanning over an acre with plant and animal life from Australia, southern Africa and the southwest. It was voted best zoo exhibit in USA Today’s Readers’ Choice Awards. WOWT
- ➤ The Omaha Film Festival returns at Aksarben Cinema (downtown) and will spotlight animated films influenced by new artificial intelligence tools. Festival organizers say the 21st annual event will bring local filmmakers together to showcase a range of creative storytelling. The Omaha News

- ➤ Pollinator education is growing in Omaha as Nebraska Extension's Master Gardener Volunteer Program teams with the Omaha Public Library to offer free workshops on planting native species (teaching skills range from garden planning to pollinator management). - ➤ Nebraska lawmakers approved a bill to let schools hold back third graders who struggle in reading if parents agree. The measure passed with a 26-10 vote and now awaits further legislative action. Omaha World-Herald
