COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Nearly 30 volunteers cleaned up litter and illegal dumping along Florence Boulevard on Wednesday near Florence Tower; the group collected nearly 50 bags of trash and will partner with Blue Bucket Project for future efforts.  WOWT

CULTURE NEWS

  • Omaha’s creative scene is growing as new hourly rental studios offer photographers and small business owners affordable, fully equipped spaces (with lighting, props, and backdrops) for creative projects and events. Studio owners say these spaces foster collaboration and bring fresh diversity to local art.  The Omaha News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Omaha will add 16 streetcar stops featuring raised platforms + shelters and real-time arrival signs to improve pedestrian access from 40th & Farnam to 10th & Capitol in fall 2028.  Grow Omaha
  • NDOL and partners are expanding career services for Tyson workers in Lexington by offering resume workshops in Spanish/English and Somali/English plus a hiring event today at the Dawson County Fairgrounds. They are also providing targeted training and transportation support using a $1.67 million federal grant.  WOWT

HEALTH NEWS

  • Nebraska families facing childhood cancer say they lack needed emotional support after hospital discharge. Community groups like Help 1 Person Today (a nonprofit offering programs) are working to fill these gaps.  The Omaha News
  • Prairie burning has begun in Kansas and Oklahoma and is expected to lower air quality in Douglas County today, which officials say could increase health risks for sensitive residents.  Omaha World-Herald

  • Construction crews held a topping-out ceremony on Wednesday, March 25 for the new Mutual of Omaha Tower in downtown, marking a key milestone in the building process (a major step in the project).  WOWT
