CULTURE NEWS

  • UNO’s Maverick Meadow will host the Nebraska Indie Game Expo on May 1 at Peter Kiewit Institute (PKI) room 158 at 5 p.m. The expo invites community members 19+ to view Nebraska-made games with award entries due April 3 and April 24.  University of Nebraska Omaha
  • The Tenaska Center for Arts Engagement opened its doors Thursday downtown as a new four-story, $108 million arts education facility attached to the Holland Center — part of the Dick and Mary Holland Campus — and will host an open house Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. with self-guided tours.  WOWT
  • Omaha Community Playhouse announced its 2026–2027 season of nine shows across two theaters built on themes of homecoming, family and community, with Come From Away opening on Sept. 11. The season features Omaha premieres with Dear Evan Hansen and Mean Girls and continues Disaster! (running until Apr. 4).  WOWT

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Eppley Airfield is expanding its terminal with a $950 million upgrade that adds new gates, a central pavilion, more restrooms and a passenger lounge. The new layout, designed to reduce anxiety and improve navigation, will be partly in use early 2027 with final international gates expected in 2028.  Grow Omaha

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Huskers warmed up at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City before their NCAA Tournament game (13-seed Troy) as part of their focused pre-game routine.  WOWT
  • On Saturday, the Supernovas set a new U.S. professional volleyball record with a sellout crowd (16,838 fans) when they defeated Indy Ignite, and they will host Grand Rapids Rise today at 7 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. All star picks Brooke Nuneviller and Emily Londot were announced, boosting team momentum.  Grow Omaha
  • KETV Sports interviewed Nebraska basketball play-by-play legend Kent Pavelka (51 years on air) at the Paycom Center. He reflected on his storied calls as he looked ahead to a potential historic NCAA tournament win.  KETV
  • Nebraska Men's Basketball secured its first NCAA win Thursday with a 76-47 victory over Troy in Oklahoma City, ending an eight-game winless streak. The Huskers will face Vanderbilt Saturday in the round of 32.  KFAB
