- ➤ The Greater Omaha Chamber and Mayor Ewing announced Brain Gain Omaha (a task force to attract and keep young talent) at an annual meeting this week. - ➤ Omaha is expecting record warm temperatures on Monday afternoon with highs near 70 degrees, possibly breaking a record of 63 according to KETV NewsWatch 7. Meteorologists advise residents near the Elkhorn, Loup and Platte Rivers to be cautious as a flood watch is in effect due to ice jam risks. KETV

- ➤ Three-year-old Violet Bowen will have brain surgery late February to remove an arachnoid cyst as she battles craniosynostosis (premature skull fusion) that raises concerns about her vision. Her family is preparing for additional tests and follow-ups as doctors work to ease her symptoms. KETV

- ➤ Omaha Men's Tennis swept Midland to earn their first win of the dual season by winning all singles and doubles matches in straight sets. The Mavericks (record 1-5) will travel next weekend to play UIC on Saturday, Feb. 14 and Northern Illinois on Sunday, Feb. 15. University of Nebraska Omaha

- ➤ Union Omaha announced leadership changes Friday as the downtown stadium project advanced, calling the move a strategic shift. The decision aims to align the team with future plans (additional details were not disclosed). WOWT
