  • A fire caused by careless smoking resulted in $20,000 in damage to an Omaha home, but all occupants evacuated safely.  WOWT

  • Investigators are examining the cause of a fire in the basement of the Lepuy Apartments in Omaha, with damages estimated at $1,500 and no injuries reported.  WOWT

CULTURE NEWS

  • The kickoff event for Black History Month at the Milo Bail Student Center, hosted by the Office of Student Leadership, Involvement and Inclusion, showcased African American culture through food, dance, and music, with many more events planned for February.  The Gateway
