- ➤ Nearly 40 teens from local high schools helped design Children's Nebraska's new Behavioral Health & Wellness Center, gaining hands-on experience in selecting colors, furniture, and lighting for a comforting space for young patients. The center opened nearly a month ago. WOWT
- ➤ Ruby, a pregnant orangutan, has been moved to a maternity stall at Omaha Zoo as she prepares for her baby's birth. Zoo staff are watching her closely for any changes before delivery. Omaha World-Herald

- ➤ The Bull Moose will permanently close its bar at 3548 Center Street; its final service day is Feb. 13 and the closure takes effect on Feb. 14 & the venue, named after Theodore Roosevelt’s Bull Moose Party and known for its historic artwork, marks a notable change for local business. Grow Omaha

- ➤ The Cornish Mansion, a rare example of Second Empire architecture in Little Italy, has been restored after a fire and remains one of the few grand homes in Forest Hills. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the 1886 mansion stands as a prized Omaha landmark. Grow Omaha

- ➤ Do Space is now part of the Omaha Public Library (currently at Milton R. Abrahams Branch) and offers tech equipment and free programs for all ages without a library card. It will add new equipment for the Central Library when it opens in April. KETV

REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ Construction is underway on the Bellevue Bay Indoor Water Park at the northwest corner of Kennedy Freeway & U.S. Highway 34. The $60 million attraction is set to open in mid-2027 and will be the fourth largest indoor water park in the nation with Mattel branding throughout. Grow Omaha
- ➤ The Home Company, a longtime Omaha homebuilder, is expanding its semi-and-semi-custom efforts to Lincoln with 12 houses in Wilderness Commons — construction could start by month's end as the company plans expansive ranches and a few two-story designs. Grow Omaha
