  • A 22-year-old man was critically injured in a one-vehicle crash in North Omaha after hitting a utility pole, causing a temporary power outage.  Omaha World-Herald
  • One person died and two were injured in a downtown Omaha apartment fire, confirmed by Omaha Police.  WOWT

CRIME NEWS

  • Two men were arrested in south-central Omaha after a high-speed car chase and on-foot pursuit, where one was found to be a felony fugitive and both faced multiple charges including possession of marijuana.  WOWT

CULTURE NEWS

  • In June 1958, Martin Luther King Jr. visited Omaha, where he attended the National Sunday School and Baptist Training Union Congress and shared a home-cooked meal with a local family, during his early leadership in the civil rights movement.  Omaha World-Herald

  • Metro middle and high school students in Omaha participated in the 25th Annual African American History Challenge, competing in trivia to earn a spot in a national competition.  WOWT
