- ➤ Neighbors including Creighton Prep senior King Maxwell joined community leaders and residents in a march to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Saturday in North Omaha, walking from the MLK monument to Salem Baptist Church amid cold weather and unity. WOWT

- ➤ Meddys will open its second Omaha location this fall at One Pacific Place. The quick-casual restaurant signed a lease for a 3,500 sqft space at 10317 Pacific Street (formerly occupied by Andrés Tortillery) according to Holly Jones of the Lund Company. Grow Omaha

- ➤ Maverick Productions, The Gateway and the Student Government Association will present their budget requests to the Student Activity Budget Commission on Monday, Feb. 9 at 5 p.m. in room 201 of the Milo Bail Student Center, with deliberations scheduled on Thursday, Feb. 12 at 5 p.m. in room 302/302A. - ➤ The upcoming Wild Kingdom show will feature the Omaha Zoo's work to save the crested toad. Megan Longo, the zoo's chief brand and experience officer, said the program brings conservation work out of the shadows. Omaha World-Herald

- ➤ A Nebraska football player was inducted into the Omaha Sports Hall of Fame on Jan. 31. He was the co-captain (of the 1970 national championship team) and received the honor for his key role in the program. WOWT
- ➤ Nearly 19,000 fans filled CHI Health Center Arena on Jan. 30 to honor loved ones at Creighton's Pink Out cancer awareness game + the Bluejays fell to No. 2 UConn by 27 points. WOWT
- ➤ Nebraska's men's basketball team will host a top-10 rematch with the Fighting Illini today as they aim to rebound from a recent loss (players and coaches expressed optimism ahead of the game). WOWT
- ➤ Nearly 19,000 fans filled CHI Health Center Arena Saturday for a Creighton basketball game dedicated to cancer awareness. The attendance included 18,650 supporters (the eighth largest in team history), all wearing pink to honor loved ones affected by cancer. WOWT
- ➤ Omahan Taryn Smith completed a 3,000-mile solo row across the Atlantic Ocean and called it her most wonderful moment (a remarkable feat that lifts the community’s spirit). Omaha World-Herald
