  • Daniel Goodwin Sr., an influential North Omaha businessman and civil rights leader who owned Goodwin’s Spencer Street Barbershop, died at 93. He was known for his community generosity and lifelong fight for equal rights — his barbershop, opened in 1955, now serves as a women's wellness center.  WOWT

  • Crews responded to a house fire in North Omaha Saturday night that forced four residents out of their home, and local authorities are looking into the cause.  WOWT
  • A house fire in North Omaha around 6:45 p.m. Saturday forced four residents out of their home near 30th and Newport — firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and the Red Cross provided help as damage reached an estimated $70,000.  WOWT

  • Po’Boy Mega Alley is expanding its services by adding a kitchen and dining area at 6011 North 30th Street near Metropolitan Community College’s Fort Campus in north Omaha & renovations are funded by a state economic development grant over $150,000.  Grow Omaha

  • Omaha’s streetcar project enters a high-intensity construction phase as the Farnam Street Bridge demolition is set this week + new track installation and planned road closures are expected to speed progress.  Omaha World-Herald

  • Creighton received $2.4 million from state cigarette tax funds to expand rural surgical cancer care by launching three connected programs focused on research, workforce development + technology that will help close care gaps for residents.  Omaha World-Herald
  • A new $114 million youth behavioral health center is set to open in Omaha and will provide a full continuum of physical & behavioral care for kids in the coming months.  Omaha World-Herald
